Title: Old Workshop, Bakewell

Sunlight glances through the holes in this old workshop, rusty corrugated iron frames deep shadows and dusty old tools litter this quiet interior on a sunny spring day.  Not all is deserted however – a bicycle propped against the entrance suggests a visitor, or maybe an old chap come to tinker with an ongoing project… if you head up the hill from the old footbridge in Bakewell, you will pass this workshop on a very steep track.  So many negative shapes and different shadows, wonderful rust and lichen covered trees… just wonderful for an artist!

Artist Bio:

Hazel is a painter and art tutor living in Derbyshire, and enjoys capturing the varied local landscapes in acrylics and oils, with many completed on-location. Her paintings explore the subtle changing moods of the seasons, from quiet unassuming landscapes, dramatic sunlit views or forgotten corners off the beaten path. Available for workshops and demonstrations, Hazel also hosts several painting holidays in the UK and abroad.
