Wildflower Enchantment is a dreamy, abstract floral oil painting created with a delicate palette and a playful modern style. This piece was truly a joy to paint from start to finish.

The background was built using a palette knife, blending sky and landscape simultaneously. I started by sweeping horizontally, then dragged the paint vertically to reveal beautiful textures and hidden depth. While the paint was still thick and wet, I used the edge of the knife to create subtle botanical forms, giving the composition a natural frame.

Once the base had dried, I layered in scattered droplets of oil paint to form a field of abstract wildflowers. Then came my signature wildflower outlines and another round of droplets, adding richness and texture until the balance felt just right. The result? A soft yet striking piece that invites you to lose yourself in its enchanting layers.

Artist Bio:

Hi, I'm Jess aka the Navy Sloth. I'm a part time artist and full time mum of two beautiful little girls. I paint as often as my limited spare time allows and love every second of it. I'm based in Cardiff, and paint in my little studio within our home. It's my little corner where I can switch off for a few hours and just be my creative self (it's meant to be a toy free zone but somehow they have crept in slowly - you know how it is!)

I create semi abstract wildflower paintings on canvas, combining my illustrative skills with a bold abstract style. My work is vibrant, fun and full of texture, perfect to add a splash of colour to any wall!
