Artwork Description:

Title: Spring Lamb

Oil Painting Original Size – 61x46cm

I do hope this oil painting, with added texture (sand or modelling paste), evokes a tranquil and mysterious rural dusk or dawn, in the spring time. It’s not intended to be accurate but use  soft purples, pinks, and greys, with a glowing orb in the sky, casting an ethereal light across a barren field.  For me, this atmosphere feels quiet and contemplative.

In the foreground, two small sheep, the mother and baby lamb, graze or rest on the textured ground. Their presence adds a tender, peaceful note to the otherwise desolate landscape. The texture in the earth is rough and layered, giving the surface a worn, tactile quality that contrasts with the smoothness of the light-filled sky.

Sparse silhouettes of trees line the horizon, dissolving into the glowing mist, reinforcing the sense of peace and serenity.

Artist Bio:
I live in the beautiful village of Carsington in Derbyshire.

My work focuses on creating atmospheric and textured landscapes, but I also create large abstract art pieces.

I am inspired by my surroundings and the fauna and flora of my local reservoir.

My abstract pieces are created with instinct and emotion, always focusing on the drama and intrigue a piece can portray.  Each piece is lovingly crafted, taking care to ensure the mood of a piece is captured through the use of harmonious and contrasting colours.
