Artwork Description:

Title: A girl eating Takoyaki – Japanese in London Series.

This stylish girl was sitting on a low wall eating takoyaki. I loved her hairstyle.

Digital collage: pencil, watercolour, origami paper, wrap paper, detail of an Hokusai painting on fabric, baking paper.

About the Japanese in London Series:

I use to take lots of photos – often blurred, crooked or shaky – of people I meet when I’m out and about in London, to freeze moments, details and faces. Then, at home, I would quietly look at them and create sketches. This collection portrays people seen at the Japan Matsuri festival. Twelve artworks which can be arranged in sets thanks to their harmonious colour palette.

Artist Bio:

I use any time left over from commissions as an Illustrator to work on personal projects where I can express myself freely. What you see here is part of one of these projects.

Hand drawing, digital art, painting and collage live happily together in my images, driven by my obsession with researching and my endless love of storytelling.
