Ali Toyne Art

Artists Bio:

Ali has been creating art for as long as she can remember and has a BA hons in Fine Art valuation from Southampton.  She has completed various courses at The Slade and St Martins in London, but more recently continues to develop from the peace of her Hertfordshire countryside studio.  Her latest focus is on bold and colourful botanical subject matter in combination with enigmatic backgrounds, usually in acrylic or oils.  She creates commissions and exhibits locally.

Ali revels in the process of creation. She is inspired by nature, particularly flowers and foliage, and enjoys using different floral combinations to create interesting colour palettes, with exciting shapes and textures.  She employs a range of techniques as well as using a variety of brushes and other tools to manipulate the paint, so a final piece may incorporate thin, translucent layers of paint next to thicker areas. She creates attractive effects through a combination of subtle and striking marks and colours, which are elevated by interesting compositions.  Ali aims to give the viewer lots to look at and evokes a sense of energy and joy through her work.
