Artists Bio:
i live and work in beautiful Belper, Derbyshire, with Husband and our border collie Cassie.
i studied printed textiles at college in South Africa, did an art & design foundation course in Grimsby, and eventually graduated from Nottingham Trent University with a degree in textile design (specialising in embroidery), but i rediscovered the enthusiasm and passion for drawing & stitching i’d had since childhood through craft, rather than commercial design.
as such, i’ve been making & selling a variety of free machine embroidered textile art pieces online for the past ten years.
after a fresh start, post-pandemic, and a new garden that i’m filling with colourful inspiration, moving back into drawing & painting has been a natural progression.
attending local art classes, i’ve been immersed in new creative processes & techniques that have allowed me to explore, experiment and define the direction i wish to take with my art; creating colourful, expressive, textural pieces based in nature.
