Artists Bio:
I am a UK Artist specialising with Graphite & Watercolour. My preferred subject is British wildlife but I also do Equine and botanical pieces.
I live and work in the Essex countryside and I’m very fortunate to spend much of my time exploring the nature reserves of the Thames Estuary, I gain loads of inspiration to take home to my garden studio.
I have always lived with animals, owning horses and dogs, I am also a passionate Birdwatcher, generally into all things natural. All my life I have been driven to create images of these passions. I am a self taught artist, but I can’t remember learning to draw, I suppose holding a pencil was as natural as learning to walk.
My work is intricately detailed, I try to portray the feel of the animal, such as softness of feathers or the silkiness of fur as well as the actual visual beauty of the natural world.
I enjoy being an active artist in my local community, belonging to my local art society I organise Plein Air events for the members where we get out to beautiful venues in the English countryside. I also enjoy teaching Art, especially introducing watercolour to beginners.
