Artists Bio:

Each piece I paint begins with inspiration—a photograph, a memory, or an observation—and develops through layers of thought, sketching, and experimentation. Watercolour demands precision and adaptability, while mixed media challenges me to push boundaries and embrace imperfections.

I love using watercolour for the interplay of light and fluidity. I enjoy both the control and unpredictability as pigments dissolve into water to create translucent washes and ethereal hues. Mixed media, on the other hand, allows for experimentation and depth, combining textures and materials to add nuance and dimensionality to my creations. By using these techniques together, I can create works that resonate with emotion and visual harmony.

Animals have always been a source of inspiration for me. Their grace, resilience, and unique personalities offer boundless opportunities for artistic exploration. The portrayal of people in my work is a study of humanity in its myriad expressions. Faces, gestures and composition can tell stories that words often cannot. Using watercolour, I capture the fleeting moods of a subject, while mixed media enhances the layers of meaning and gives depth to their narratives.

Watercolour’s fluidity also lends itself perfectly to landscapes, which occasionally capture my imagination. I love to peacefully observe shifting skies, rippling waters, and all the wonderful landscape textures.. Mixed media adds texture and structure, creating pieces that evoke the tactile experience of these places.
