Artists Bio:
I’m Sarah Wheeler. I live in the beautiful Norfolk countryside and most of my art is influenced by the animals, birds and plants around me. I also have an interest in folklore that pops up in the occasional painting!
I am a self taught artist. I began drawing (very prolifically!) in my teenage years and have always found art to be a calming mainstay in the hectic chaos of life. My preferred medium is watercolour. I love its versatility, the fact that it’s easy to carry on a walk (practicalities!) and that, sometimes, it has a mind of its own.
I have also started doing pet portraits over the last five years. I particularly enjoy painting cats – I have three myself and they are very good at working their way into paintings, whether planned or not!
