Artists Bio:
I’m a Sheffield based artist, inspired by the windswept hills and moors of the Peak District. There’s nothing I love more than watching the clouds roll over the rocky escarpments of the Dark Peak while being buffeted by a high wind.
Drawing and painting from life, memory and from my own photographs, I like to work quickly, experimenting with a variety of media to try to capture the essence and my experience of the landscape rather than always trying to get an accurate likeness. My work is very gestural, atmospheric and moody; sometimes a bit abstract, and always evocative and expressive.
