Artists Bio:
Wendy is a passionate artist who infuses her vibrant abstract creations with deep joy, bright energy and gratitude. Though Wendy first studied art in school and art groups, she took a 30-year detour into the insurance industry. It was during a challenging time that she rekindled her love for painting, using it as a way to bring joy into her life. Encouraged by a colleague, Wendy joined the prestigious Lloyd’s Art Group, where her role as a consultant to Lloyd’s syndicates, made her a perfect fit. Her work has been showcased in the iconic Lloyd’s building as well as exhibitions at galleries in Edinburgh, Halifax, Sheffield, Suffolk and London.
Wendy’s abstract art, inspired by her rural surroundings and childhood memories of living by the sea, is a dance of vibrant colour, marks, and layered shapes.
Wendy enjoys experimenting with colour and texture with acrylics on canvas. She builds up texture with layers to create depth. Wendy’s canvasses are tactile and thick with paint drawing you in closer.
Wendy paints in abstract as she finds the style peaceful and calming. Viewing an abstract painting promotes mindfulness – this feeling is heightened for Wendy as she applies paint to her canvas.
