Title: Algorithmic Scream

Munch painting the Scream in response to the free floating anxiety of the late 19th century, and in a way this my homage to him in response to the free floating anxiety of our current era.

This piece came about when I was listening to Jaron Lainer talk about the book’ The Human use of Human Beings’, though the 2020 lockdowns, and the idea of using computer systems to modify behaviour and thought. It also links into the work of Mattias Desmet in his theory of Mass Formation and the Psychology of Totalitarianism.
