Artwork Description:

Title: All Is Well

Oil Painting Original Size – 61x46cm

With this piece I wanted to express that even when there appears to be a lonesome sheep, ‘All is Well’.  Often you will see sheep in a flock, but occasionally they wander from the pack, but soon to return.

I wanted to capture a quiet rural landscape, with soft, moody tones and a sand added to the oil paints to add texture to the surface.  The sky has a focus of brightness but with shades of umbers and pinks, creating a dusky, dreamlike ambiance.

The terrain has added texture to inflate the foreground , with a rough  texture that gives the land a tactile quality. Scattered across the field is a lonesome small white sheep, but the artists knows there are many more nearby, so ‘All is Well’.

Artist Bio:
I live in the beautiful village of Carsington in Derbyshire.

My work focuses on creating atmospheric and textured landscapes, but I also create large abstract art pieces.

I am inspired by my surroundings and the fauna and flora of my local reservoir.

My abstract pieces are created with instinct and emotion, always focusing on the drama and intrigue a piece can portray.  Each piece is lovingly crafted, taking care to ensure the mood of a piece is captured through the use of harmonious and contrasting colours.
