Title: Butterfly and Buddleia

This, like many of my floral paintings, was inspired by the buddleia bush in my own garden! Every year it would get covered in all different kinds of bees and butterflies, including this lovely peacock butterfly. Layer upon layer of watercolour were used to get the rich depth of colour on the butterfly and i used the tiniest of brushes! This one was a bit more challenging because of all of the tiny flowers and the detail on the butterfly, but it was worth it! This print would look lovely on its own or grouped with some of my other floral paintings.

Artist Bio:

I am a watercolour and ceramic artist based in the West Midlands. I have painted professionally for over 25 years and my biggest inspiration is nature itself. Although I also like to let my imagination run free and paint fantasy and fairytales! Whether it be birds or flowers, unicorns or waterfalls, I am sure will find something that you will fall in love with!
