Artwork Description:

Title: Carnival

A celebration of carnival extravagance and mystery in mixed media on canvas board. I’ve used gold ink, acrylic paints, collage with fabric and paper and acrylic modelling paste to create a burst of colour and texture. The idea came from finding a cardboard plain white mask in a charity shop.  I then researched carnival masks finding some really exciting and extravagant design ideas to inspire my creation. I love how the lace creates a rich texture, and the discarded pearl necklace and fan give a sense of who may have worn this mask.

I love colour, I enjoy being with people and I love to be outside in gorgeous scenery. All of these elements can be seen in my work.
