Title: Celebrating Summer

Celebrating Summer is one of a series of four acrylic originals celebrating the four seasons in goddess form.

Here we have the pregnant woman in the prime of life, representing fertility, in a standing yoga pose, Urdhva Hastasana (Upward Salute). Naked and bathed in sunshine, surrounded by the fruitfulness of the summer, flowers and fruit. She stands on a beach because many people associate a beach holiday with fresh air and summer fun for all ages.

 

 

Artist Bio:

Hello, I'm Marion Spencer from the lovely West Country of England. Recently I have been developing my acrylic paintings and experimenting more with print making but I still enjoy fine drawing and watercolour inks.

I'm inspired by the elemental natural world that surrounds me but also by folklore.
