Artwork Description:

Title: Done Fishing

Oil Painting Original Size – 61 x 46cm

My intent is to convey a sombre and contemplative mood through its muted colour palette and minimal composition. It features a solitary rowboat resting quietly on a still body of water, rendered in grayscale tones. The water reflects subtle gradients of grey, beige, and light brown, evoking a sense of calm and quiet.

In the background, there’s a faint, misty treeline that stretches across the horizon, almost blending into the overcast sky above. The sky is heavy with dark, textured clouds, contributing to a feeling of melancholy or introspection.

Overall, the piece captures a moment of stillness, isolation, and quiet beauty, suggesting themes of solitude, reflection, or the end of a journey, as implied by the title “Done Fishing.”

Artist Bio:
I live in the beautiful village of Carsington in Derbyshire.

My work focuses on creating atmospheric and textured landscapes, but I also create large abstract art pieces.

I am inspired by my surroundings and the fauna and flora of my local reservoir.

My abstract pieces are created with instinct and emotion, always focusing on the drama and intrigue a piece can portray.  Each piece is lovingly crafted, taking care to ensure the mood of a piece is captured through the use of harmonious and contrasting colours.
