Title: Firefly

Firefly is an expression of movement and flow, with dynamic, sweeping strokes and a textured background.  The dominant form in the center resembles a twisting, organic ribbon or tendril, rendered with layered tones of dark brown, black, red, and hints of white. The brushwork gives it a sense of motion and energy, as if it’s swirling or being carried by wind.

The background is a mix of cool greys and blues with rough, textured strokes, providing a sense of depth and turbulence. White and gold splatters dot the canvas, adding a sense of light and movement, almost like sparks or stardust.

The overall mood is energetic and slightly chaotic but still balanced, evoking a feeling of natural forces—like wind, waves, or a firefly.

Artist Bio:

I live in the beautiful village of Carsington in Derbyshire.

My work focuses on creating atmospheric and textured landscapes, but I also create large abstract art pieces.

I am inspired by my surroundings and the fauna and flora of my local reservoir.

My abstract pieces are created with instinct and emotion, always focusing on the drama and intrigue a piece can portray.  Each piece is lovingly crafted, taking care to ensure the mood of a piece is captured through the use of harmonious and contrasting colours.
