Title: Hummingbird Moth

This pretty little watercolour is of one of the more elusive insects, the hummingbird moth. I have been really lucky to have seen one of these beautiful moths on two occasions in the last few years. They really do deserve their name because if you have also been lucky enough to see one you will know that they really do look like a hummingbird! It was quite a challenge to paint the fine fur on the body and the delicate wings which is why I use such a small brush! This painting looks beautiful on its own or as part of a group with my other floral paintings.

Artist Bio:

I am a watercolour and ceramic artist based in the West Midlands. I have painted professionally for over 25 years and my biggest inspiration is nature itself. Although I also like to let my imagination run free and paint fantasy and fairytales!
