Artwork Description:

Title: INT^20-4

Structures formed of the same matter as you, for as long as you’ve lived and longer, stretch tall and taller on every green corner in your world.  Your internal structures are a mimicry of their careful arrangement.  Stars fuel your body like it does theirs.  They breathe deep your air in a colourful expression.

This is an image from my INT Series.  This project is an abstract, visual exploration of this spiritual notion, which encourages viewers to consider their interconnection with nature.  I post this work to social platforms, accompanying it with poetry that I write myself and which also deal with spiritual themes.

Artist Bio:
Jake Scarth is a 20 year old artist and photographer based in Lincolnshire, UK.  Jake's personal interests in abstraction, biomimicry, and spirituality often lead him to explore these themes in various creative mediums.  His series 'INT', which began in April 2024, is the clearest display of this, using colour and form to confront viewers with their interconnection with nature.

Jake's journey as an artist started when he switched his studies to photography from physics one year into his A level studies at Sixth Form! He graduated with a Distinction* after just one year of study, having never touched a DSLR camera prior to his switch.  After a gap year, initially spent studying interior design at De Montfort University in Leicester, Jake turned to photography again and enrolled on the BA Photography course at the University of Lincoln, where he is now in his second year of studies.

His ambition is to have his artwork exhibited in galleries and to continue to be able to produce his favourite kind of art.  Alongside his studies, Jake's current focus is on expanding the scope of his work and adventuring into other aesthetic styles and creative mediums.
