Title: Into The Salt

Into The Salt, originally acrylic on canvas, was the result of an evening stroll at Studland’s Shell Bay, a local beach to us here in Purbeck, Dorset. I was struck by the colour, line and texture where the little stream of fresh water wound its way to the sea through the sand, rippled by the breeze.

A more contemporary style than my other seascapes, I wanted to concentrate on framing the pattern which presented through the light and contrast of the wet sand and the dry sand, marked by many feet througout the day with the backdrop of the early sunset sky and deep shadows from the low sunlight.

Hello, I'm Marion Spencer from the lovely West Country of England. Recently I have been developing my acrylic paintings and experimenting more with print making but I still enjoy fine drawing and watercolour inks.

I'm inspired by the elemental natural world that surrounds me but also by folklore.
