Title: Middlepeak Quarry

Wirksworth’s own ‘Blue Lagoon’. Years of quarrying have left this almost moonscape landscape in places and and incredible coloured rockface. Popular with Jackdaws , Hawks, youngsters daring the fences to go swimming in the pools and now film crews who exasperate the locals by making the roads and trails out of bounds whilst they’re filming.

Artist Bio:

I studied art at A level but then a career in Engineering and bringing up a family interrupted my painting. But I never lost my passion for art and for the last 40 years I've been painting again. I've shown my art in countless exhibitions and galleries including Sheffield, Hull, Buxton and many others. I live in Wirksworth where I moved to, to continue my taking part in the Festival there and have had my painting included in the Wirksworth Brochure Front Page.
