This honeycomb filled with rich, molten hues of amber, orange, and deep crimson, aims to capture the essense of honey, warmth and harvest in a single radiant moment. The piece has a molten quality to it and almost seems to glow! This is a tribute piece to the humble and hardworking bee.

 

Artist Bio:

Self-taught artist Anita Lester lives in South East England where she spends her time painting and home - educating her children. She spent her childhood and most of her teenage years on the island of Trinidad in the Caribbean. Her years there have massively influenced her work and style of painting. She works mostly in oils and acrylics but does the occasional work in watercolour and pencil.

Anita loves bringing a vibrancy to her paintings and really pays a lot of attention to colours even those that may seem subtle. She enjoys painting scenes from nature. Her hope is that when her audience engage with her work, they are encouraged to stop for a moment and observe the things around us that we may take for granted or just pass by.
