Artwork Description:

Title: Moon Shadow

Oil Painting Original Size – 61x46cm

This oil painting, enhanced with added sand for texture, exudes a moody and dreamlike atmosphere. The textured surface gives the landscape a rich, tactile quality, especially noticeable in the foreground where the sand creates depth.

The scene features a white cottage with warm, reddish-brown roofs, nestled within a dusky moor. The full moon casts a soft glow across the landscape, diffused through a hazy, purplish sky. The dark silhouette of distant trees contrasts starkly with the luminous sky, anchoring the composition’s horizon.

The foreground is highly textured and filled with earthy tone of greys, browns, and occasional muted pinks and yellows. The rough texture created by the sand adds a weathered quality, reminiscent of mist-covered heaths.  I do hope you enjoy this work.

Artist Bio:
I live in the beautiful village of Carsington in Derbyshire.

My work focuses on creating atmospheric and textured landscapes, but I also create large abstract art pieces.

I am inspired by my surroundings and the fauna and flora of my local reservoir.

My abstract pieces are created with instinct and emotion, always focusing on the drama and intrigue a piece can portray.  Each piece is lovingly crafted, taking care to ensure the mood of a piece is captured through the use of harmonious and contrasting colours.
