Artwork Description:

Title: Moored Silly

Oil Painting Original Size – 52x41cm

Living next to the wonderful reservoir in Carsington, I often nip down to the jetty and have a chat with those working the boats for the recreational activities they manage.

I have chosen a rather bright colour palette for this piece, as water doesn’t have to be blue! I have used pinks and burnt umbers to give this a tranquil feeling and some warmth.  I hope you like this piece.

Sand and other materials to give the texture it evokes. My artwork combines impressionistic and surreal elements, with an emphasis on texture and mood rather than detail.

Artist Bio:
I live in the beautiful village of Carsington in Derbyshire.

My work focuses on creating atmospheric and textured landscapes, but I also create large abstract art pieces.

I am inspired by my surroundings and the fauna and flora of my local reservoir.

My abstract pieces are created with instinct and emotion, always focusing on the drama and intrigue a piece can portray.  Each piece is lovingly crafted, taking care to ensure the mood of a piece is captured through the use of harmonious and contrasting colours.
