Title: Rayleigh Windmill

I have painted illustrations of Rayleigh Windmill a couple of times before, but this is my favourite and most recent.

Painted in pen and watercolour, a cute and whimsical version of our local town windmill. A popular tourist attraction, wedding venue, museum and exhibition space.

This special landmark is a Grade II listed building and over 200 years old.

Artist Bio:

Kathryn Cooper is a British artist from Essex, with a passion to create all kinds of original art in ink and watercolour. Including abstract art, surface pattern design, landscapes and urban sketches.

In 2022 she set up a small business called KC Sketches, specialising in house and building portraiture. She enjoys creating  charming commissioned pieces for customers of their homes, wedding venues, business/commercial buildings and a variety of other places with sentimental meaning.

Kathryn spent several years living close to the breath-taking scenery of County Wicklow in Ireland. Those awesome views have been a strong inspiration in creating her miniature watercolour abstract landscapes. These are expressive and intuitive paintings, mostly in a palette of blues and browns. Many of them feature dramatic and stormy skies.
