Artwork Description:

Title: The Old Parish Rooms

I have painted illustrations of Rayleigh’s Old Parish Rooms a couple of times before, but this is my most recent and favourite version.

Painted in pen and watercolour as a sentimental commissioned piece, to someone who exchanged their wedding vows here.

This beautiful red brick landmark was originally built in 1863 as a school house and is a Grade II listed building. Now it is a very popular unique and intimate events and wedding venue.

Artist Bio:
Kathryn Cooper is a British artist from Essex, with a passion to create all kinds of original art in ink and watercolour. Including abstract art, surface pattern design, landscapes and urban sketches.

In 2022 she set up a small business called KC Sketches, specialising in house and building portraiture. She enjoys creating  charming commissioned pieces for customers of their homes, wedding venues, business/commercial buildings and a variety of other places with sentimental meaning.

Kathryn spent several years living close to the breath-taking scenery of County Wicklow in Ireland. Those awesome views have been a strong inspiration in creating her miniature watercolour abstract landscapes. These are expressive and intuitive paintings, mostly in a palette of blues and browns. Many of them feature dramatic and stormy skies.
