Title: The thief and his lover

Two magpies – one for sorrow, two for joy!

This picture was inspired by a visit to a friend’s garden. She had hung a rusty old candelabra in a tree and the magpies were trying (and occasionally succeeding!) to land on it. And, everyone knows that magpies love shiny things – so what better way to woo your intended – showing off your balancing skills whilst presenting a sparkly necklace!

Artist Bio:

Sarah Wheeler lives in the Norfolk countryside. Most of her art is inspired by the animals, birds and plants in this area, combined with an interest in folklore.
