Title: The Space Between 1

The landscape around where I live lends itself to a panoramic format. On days like this, the bright sky is squeezed between the lowering clouds and the land. This painting, like Coombe Hill 2 and Tissington Trail Views 1, was painted simply, with a reduced colour palette, onto a moody grey background, focussing the attention on the distant hills and the glimpse of sky.

Artist Bio:

Many of my paintings are of the landscapes around my home in the Peak District; you may see views you recognise if you've ever walked around the Hartington area. Others are from views that have caught my eye when travelling further afield. There are vignettes of plants growing through walls, and even an occasional flower detail. My studio is open on various days through the year, so if you're passing, drop in!
