Artwork Description:

Title: Pure Gold

There is nothing more joyful or exuberant than a bright yellow flower. They evoke positive feelings of warmth, cheer and hope. Who doesn’t look forward to daffodils in spring? I can never resist those first daffs that arrive in shops late winter, reminding us that spring is on the way and lifting the dark winter days.

The dappled background was painted after the flower, which is unusual for me, as normally I would prepare the background first. However in this case I wanted nothing to dilute the brilliant yellow of the flower, (always a risk with inks) and the glowing yellow bloom confirms that this was the correct choice!

This image creates such an uplifting and joyful splash of colour,  oozes positive vibes and would look fantastic matched with any interior decor!

Artist Bio:
I paint vibrant and quirky nature-inspired abstracts, uplifting landscapes, effervescent still lifes, as well as, fantasy worlds, planets and waterscapes. I use primarily alcohol-based inks on Yupo or Nara paper, which is waterproof, enabling the inks to move around. Inks are a fluid medium, although I occasionally branch out into some mixed-media artwork. My art captures moments of joy, peace and reflection in the world around me.
