This amazing voluptuous mermaid, swimming serenely through water, was created using metallic alcohol inks and is a beautifully atmospheric painting. One for lovers of the sea, fantasy, folk tales, outdoor swimming and of course mermaids!

I still lack confidence when drawing: as with many of us I am critical of my work when I feel it lacks perfection, so I had to do some trial runs drawing mermaids, as I had a very specific image in mind. She reminds me that we are all uniquely created in an infinite variety of shapes and sizes. No one size fits all for this mermaid!

Some would place this picture in the bathroom, but I think she is too beautiful to be confined to one room. Put her where you can gaze at her, dream big dreams, or just let the peace of this image wash over you.

Artist Bio:

I paint vibrant and quirky nature-inspired abstracts, uplifting landscapes, effervescent still lifes, as well as, fantasy worlds, planets and waterscapes. I use primarily alcohol-based inks on Yupo or Nara paper, which is waterproof, enabling the inks to move around. Inks are a fluid medium, although I occasionally branch out into some mixed-media artwork. My art captures moments of joy, peace and reflection in the world around me.
