Artwork Description:

Title: Sunrise

I painted this using alcohol inks and at the time, I was recalling one of my favourite films. The English Patient. I wanted to paint a romantic desert sunset and was very pleased with the result. Alcohol inks are notoriously difficult to work with as they dry exceptionally quickly. However, the upside is that you can often rework an image you aren’t happy with, by adding some more isopropyl alcohol to a creation, so that you can rework the inks.

Anyway, I love this moody, passionate sunset. It makes me feel calm, happy and at peace. It would bring a touch of romance and glamour to any space.

Artist Bio:
I paint vibrant and quirky nature-inspired abstracts, uplifting landscapes, effervescent still lifes, as well as, fantasy worlds, planets and waterscapes. I use primarily alcohol-based inks on Yupo or Nara paper, which is waterproof, enabling the inks to move around. Inks are a fluid medium, although I occasionally branch out into some mixed-media artwork. My art captures moments of joy, peace and reflection in the world around me.
