Inspired by my love of the amazing fresh vibrant green of spring, as well as the cherry blossom tree in my garden. There’s just something about cherry blossom! The delicate blooms that float through the air in the breeze excite me and in some incomprehensible way, encourage me to look forward to the future. I just love them. I’ve used a little artistic license in this picture, as I know the blossom really comes before the leaves have fully clothed the tree. This is an absolutely stunning artwork and would make a wonderful statement piece on any wall in your home. It is one of several trees I have painted depicting varying moods and trees through the seasons.
I used alcohol inks on waterproof paper to create this piece of art. Gold pigments suffuse the colours of the original, creating detail and depth in prints. I used a combination of brushes and blowing tools to create this treescape, as well as manipulating the paper, to cause the inks to flow where I wanted them.
Artist Bio:
I paint vibrant and quirky nature-inspired abstracts, uplifting landscapes, effervescent still lifes, as well as, fantasy worlds, planets and waterscapes. I use primarily alcohol-based inks on Yupo or Nara paper, which is waterproof, enabling the inks to move around. Inks are a fluid medium, although I occasionally branch out into some mixed-media artwork. My art captures moments of joy, peace and reflection in the world around me.
